Our Run with Dream Big is our health component for keeping your dream vibrant and healthy. An active lifestyle is important to the vitality of pursuing ambitions and accomplishing goals. If you enjoy physical fitness and activities, join us on our journey.
Dream Big Community Center launched this program in 2013. We joined the list of charity affiliates of the Portland Marathon and had four runners cross the finish line. The decision to join was from the founder and executive director’s decision to dream big in physical health too.
The other runners were Mark Doar, Bart Hansen and Diana Avalos-Leos. Our goal is to have someone run each year and fundraise for the organization. The objectives of Run with Dream Big’s goal is to include an element of active and healthy living as a lifestyle, not just a fad.
Support our Runner
Our runner for 2017 is Tim Cook. He’s no stranger to running or Dream Big. Tim has a current goal of running 50 marathons in 50 different states. So far, he’s ran 24 marathons. His fastest time is 3 hrs 37 minutes, which is a 8 minute 28 second mile pace for 26.2 miles. Even though we know he would want to break his personal record, Tim is also a committed board member that’s dedicated his life to personal achievement.
Tim was one of the first considered to sit on Dream Big’s board in 2005 when the organization was being formed. Nathan was one of his students at Clark College while earning his degree. After a few conversations, our founder was born and the rest is history. Therefore, the open invitation remained and Tim joined the Dream Big Board in 2015.
The goal for our participation in the Portland Marathon is to encourage healthy living for everyone. We’ll have different opportunities as we grow this event. To learn more or to help out with this endeavor, shoot us an email at email@example.com.
